Give yourself a pedicure at home

foot care productsHow to Get Pedicure Equipment and Tools?

A pedicure is a great way to pamper yourself and soothe your aching feet.

Instructions:

Find a wide tub or basin to use to soak your feet in. The tub should be wide enough to fit both of your feet in and hold enough warm water to cover them. Add Epsom salt, oil or your favorite foot salt to the water to soothe your feet.

Place a folded towel right outside the tub to rest your feet on and to dry them off. A terry cloth bath towel works best. You want something large enough to fold up to give your feet a platform to rest on and something absorbent enough to dry your feet thoroughly.

Take off old nail polish with cotton balls and nail polish remover. Look for an acetone-free polish remover. It is gentler on your nails and cuticles. Typically, you will need 3 or 4 cotton balls to remove the polish from both feet. If you are wearing a dark color on your toes, you may need more cotton balls to get all of the polish off.

Have nail clippers, files and buffers to trim down, shape and buff your toenails. Long handled toenail clippers make reaching your own toes easier, especially if you have a bad back or are pregnant. You will need a higher grit file for your toenails than what you use on fingernails because your toenails are thicker. Use at least a 180-grit file.

Have a pumice stone or heel scraper to remove rough patches from your heels and balls of your feet. You can get a plain pumice stone or use one that is on the end of a file, and then you’ll follow up with a bristled nailbrush to thoroughly clean the feet and toes before polishing.

Make sure to have a base coat and topcoat, as well as your polish, to protect your toenails and the polish, making your color last longer. There’s a variety of top and base coats available such as ridge filling, nail strengthening and quick drying. As far as the polish goes, choose one that complements your skin tone.

Decorate toenails using decals or polish. Use cotton swabs, bobby pins and special brushes to add decoration and jewels to your toes. Nail decorating kits are also available at beauty supply stores or online. (See link in Resources.)

Tips & Warnings

A foam nail separator or rolled up piece of paper towel works well to put in between your toes to separate them so your polish does not smudge.

Make sure to clean and sanitize your pedicure equipment after each use, especially if shared by more than one person.

Some Tips for import products from China

Some Tips for importing from China

First I want to introduce myself  as a exporter also a distributor in Hongkong, China. We are in the line of beauty care products. Here I want to share my experience of trading.

OK, let’s begin.

Why import from China?

Almost anything that you can imagine is made in this country. Because of lower wages and overall costs, prices for wholesale imports from China are almost unbeatable. It’s logical to import products that fit your market strategy from China. With some patience and due diligence, you can locate reliable suppliers in China.

Who to deal with?

Start importing goods from China by finding the best distributor; dealing directly with a factory is incredibly difficult even for Chinese speakers. A broker or agent will call around for the best possible price. Based upon the size of the order, brokers and manufacturer’s agents can get a decent discount on the price.

How to check the quality?

The most directly and fastest way to check the quality is asking for some samples. Express delivery services (e.g., UPS, DHL and FedEx) have major distribution hubs across China, with guaranteed 24 hour next-day delivery between major cities in China and America. They are much expensive to pay for them in China, so I advice you to have an account to collect the delivery cost on your side.  It’s safe, easy and fast. Most of supplier would send some free samples but not willing to pay for the Express Delivery.

How to delivery the goods?

In my experience, as to small quantity products (weight between 10KGS to 200KGS ) also you want the products get to you in a week, the economic air shipping is the best way to choose. Especially the gross weight between 30KGS to 200KGS, it’s much cheaper to send my Hongkong which means you don’t need to pay hundreds of money for customs. We all know that Hongkong is a free-trade area.  That’s what we do for our clients to save money and time.

As to big amount of products, you’d better have your products send by sea.

  • Deal directly with a reputable agent. Shipping through Chinese customs requires a skilled professional shipping agent. The agent must be licensed with the Chinese government in order to ship overseas. All goods must have several official documents accompanying them through the customs clearance process.
  • Most suppliers have deal with logistics, so they can arrange for shipping as well by getting good price and good service.

Worried about the Customs Duty?

Many times I had been told by my clients that the customs duty were to high (45% or more). I am not sure whether will it helpful for you or not. Most of our clients told me to make two copies of Proforma Invoices. One is the Original Invoice, the other one was made according to their requirement (much lower price you know:)

How about the payment?

There are many ways of payment terms. While T/T and Western Union are most popular to your trustworthy supplier. If come to new supplier, it will be safe if the supplier has their company bank account. If  not, you can pay by paypal (but I found it’s not popular in China), L/C, or pay deposit first, then by the understanding while the products are read to shipping.

What’s your favorite nail care tool?

How much do you know about Nail File?

  • There are four sorts of nail file in normal: Wood Nail File, Salon Nail File (both of them are disposable nail file), Metal Nail File and Crystal Nail File (both of them are permanent nail file).
  • What’s the different between them?

Both wood nail file and salon nail file manage in different grit, such as: #120 #180 #240 #320, smaller grit means more coarser, meanwhile bigger grit means finner. They are disposable file so many companies like to use them as promotional gifts, and more use in salon house.

As to metal nail file, it will remind us stainless steel manicure set. If use stainless steel metal as material and you keep it clean and dry after use, it can be permanent file as well. Now there are many different design are available.

Crystal Nail File is a professional tool for nail care. Guarantees a high standard in hygiene; can be sterilized by heat, liquid, UV lighting or alcohol. Unlimited lifespan of the filing surface. Leaves your nails smoother and healthier. Regular use prevents nail from chipping, splitting or flaking.

Crystal nail file is always my favorite, I gave many of them to my friends and family. A crystal nail file is the queen in all files, I think. There are two sorts of them: Normal Crystal Nail file and Permanent Nail File (Etched File).

  • Many of my clients asked me what’s the difference between a normal crystal nail file and a Permanent Nail File?
  • You can feel and touch the emery on a Normal Nail File, because the emery sprayed on the surface of the file body. While a Permanent Nail File has its emery etched in the file, so the emery would never fall. And a Permanent Nail File is more transparent and clear, that’s why it also called Crystal Nail File. Now crystal nail file inlay with Gem Stone is very popular!

So what’s your favorite file?
